Cheryl Reidy For Secretary

My name is Cheryl Reidy and I am running for the position of secretary. I’ve been a member of PHCOEM for over five years, and I try to participate in as many club charity events as possible. Some of my favorites are the Special Olympics dance at Harvard, the Brockton and Mashpee Special Olympics cheeseburger lunches, the Passion Plunge, and the Clancy-Darling Road Race. And, of course, I love the social events as well!

Many of you know me as one of the Freaki Tikis, along with Toni Astore, Carol Shapiro, Kelly Connerton, and Linda Kenney. I’m a regular at the South Thirstday meetings at Castaways in Bridgewater.

In 2004 I co-wrote, co-directed, co-produced, and played a role in the “Gypsies In The Palace” skit, which won the skit contest. For my contribution to the victory I was recognized as Member of the Month. I served as co-writer, co-director, and co-producer again in 2005 for the “10 Year Extravaganza Skit”, and again in 2006 for the “Bank Of Bad Habits”. Both of those skits also won first place, which hopefully gave club morale a big boost!

In 2005 I served on the games committee for the NEPHC, where I organized and ran the scavenger hunt, as well as helping with the other games. I also served on the decorations committee.

I have been writing/editing/proofreading for most of my life, from school publications to newspaper ad copy for my current employer. I wrote and edited a parody high school yearbook of all of the employees of the company for which I work. I’m also a frequent contributor to the Manana Times of articles, stories, poems and pictures. Most recently I’ve been chronicling the adventures of the pink chair,

It takes a whole team of people to run this club, and I believe that I can be a productive member of that team. Personally I am hard-working, dependable, creative, intelligent, and open-minded. I’ve always been good at seeing both sides of any situation. I would like to see the club continue to break new ground and improve. And I would like to see the Manana Times continue to be a quality newsletter, combining information and fun. I hope you will vote for me.
