The Canadiens’ 2005-06 season was successfully launched in September with the annual Jamboree. Some 10,000 happy fans participated in the special celebration, which was attended by current Habs and players of yesteryear.
The Jamboree began with a team practice open to the public, followed by an autograph session, where 10,000 fans flocked around their favourite stars and collected their prized mementoes. Young fans also had the opportunity to play a pick-up game of ball hockey with members of the Canadiens. That same evening, 1,200 Habs enthusiasts received free tickets to attend the game between the Canadiens and the Thrashers at the Bell Centre.
But that’s not all. As a gesture to celebrate the return of NHL hockey after a one-year hiatus, the Canadiens handed out free tickets to some 500 fans to attend Tuesday night games at the Bell Centre throughout the season.
