For his achievement in Vocal Music, a Delbarton Medal was presented to:

An award is presented to the winner of The Abbot Martin Burne Essay Contest, for which seniors are invited to write on the beatitude of the Lord Jesus, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Abbot Martin was a long time teacher at Delbarton, and also served as Abbot of St. Mary’s Abbey and Abbot President of the American Cassinese Congregation. This year the Delbarton Medal was given in memory of Abbot Martin to: Gregory D’Alia Scalera

The Delbarton Mothers' Guild Prize for General Excellence is awarded each year to the student who has led his class scholastically throughout his years in secondary school. This year, the Delbarton Mother’s Guild prize was awarded to: Nicolas Antonio Luzarraga

SPECIAL AWARDS

Five of Delbarton’s most distinguished senior awards are presented at graduation. Each recipient

receives a plaque commemorating the award. Lending to their distinction, each honoree has his

name engraved on the permanent plaques in the lobby of Trinity Hall.

The Peter B. Haas Award, established in memory of a 25 year old marine pilot killed in

Korea, is awarded for distinguished leadership within the School. For his work in upholding the

values of brotherhood and unity amongst his peers, and for his outstanding service in many areas of

School life, The Peter B. Haas Award was presented to: Michael Anton Noelke

The James E. Nugent Award, established in memory of a graduate of the class of 1969, is

awarded to the Delbarton student who best exemplifies the spirit of giving himself to others. This

young man has distinguished himself amongst his peers for his unquestioned integrity and for self

forgetful service to his classmates, School and community. Christopher Nugent ‘83, James’ brother,

presented The James E. Nugent Award to: Peter Graham Chambers
