Gathers the necessary equipment

2.

Ensures that cylinder is stabilized either in a carrier or circle stand

3.

Checks the code stamped on the cylinder for the last hydrostatic test date and articulates understanding of the need to report to the vendor any cylinders with expired hydrostatic test dates and to separate them from the serviceable ones

4.

Verifies the cylinder contents by comparing the color code  of the cylinder with its label

5.

Removes the cylinder cap (G and H size cylinders only) and cracks the cylinder valve by quickly opening and closing the cylinder valve to clear debris from cylinder connection, making sure that gas outlet is facing in a safe direction and not at anyone

6.

Selects the proper regulator for the size cylinder being used, examines it for broken parts and ensures that the gasket is in place (E cylinder only) prior to attaching it to the cylinder valve

7.

Turns all regulator controls to the off position then places the regulator on to the cylinder valve and tightens with a wrench without using excessive force

8.

Gently opens the cylinder valve and checks for leaks

9.

Accurately reads cylinder pressure and adjusts regulator to the proper flow

10.

Calculates gas flow duration for the given flow, tank pressure, and cylinder size

11.

Turns off the cylinder valve using a cylinder wrench and then bleeds” the pressure from the regulator by turning it on and leaving it on until the pressure gage returns to zero

12.

Turns the regulator off and removes it from the cylinder then recaps the cylinder (G and H size cylinders only)
