As the involvement becomes more intense and as parents relinquish control to their care taking children, we find that women and upper-educated members of the cohort are those most often involved, with some exceptions. Minorities
especially Asian Americans and Hispanics—are more likely to have roles
as intimate, heavy caregivers than are others.
