The current crisis has revealed the weaknesses of the nancial supervision system. One of the suggested mechanisms for securing against the next crisis is creating global nancial supervision institutions as such a mechanism would be ecient and necessary. Miroslav Singer, President of the Czech National Bank, emphasized that the operations of supervisory institutions depend on who creates such an in- stitution, where its employees come from, and what duties and scope of responsi- bilities they had before.
