n 2010 the Economic Forum cele- brated its anniversary. Since the very beginning the forum has been accompanying the changes in our re- gion, and at the same time it has been creating them. The meetings in Krynica started from discussions held by a hun- dred participants. Slowly, more and more participants joined us. After a few years, the top politicians entered the forum. Then, the top politicians consi- dered it rational that their counterparts from other countries should arrive in Krynica, too. Therefore, the forum be- came not only a meeting point for en- trepreneurs and experts, but also an important destination for the region’s most powerful politicians. I
he Economic Forum is charac- terised by its constant growth. T T h e n u m b e r o f v i s i t o r s i n K r y n i c grows and the number of companies and institutions grows, too. There are still new countries represented at the forum. The twenty-year growth was completed sym- bolically by participation in the anniversary celebration of the most important au- thorities of the European Union: President of the European Union – Jose Manuela Barroso, President of the European Parliament – Jerzy Buzek, President of Poland – Bronisław Komorowski and President of Estonia – Toomas Hendrik Ilves. he forum is being more and more appreciated by entrepreneurs. It oers an exceptional chance to exchange achievements and plans and learn of possible cooperation, but it also facilitates debates in a group of top quality business practitioners and theoreticians. The formula of the meetings in Krynica involves all participants in the intellectual dialogue and enables them to share observations and fears. In Krynica people do not meet to present their oers only, but also to exchange conclusions and guidelines. T
or many years other initiatives have been developed under the common logo, such as the Forum of Regions (for ve years in Muszyna), Investment Forum in Tarnów and Innovations Forum in Rzeszów. The most inuential politicians, entrepreneurs, and representatives of culture and science come to meet the Young Leaders and to share their experiences with them, as well as to listen to them. F A ll of this makes the forum in Krynica an awaited and needed event, an event that one must take part in.
