If we want to have a modern renery industry then we must invest in this sector on a regular basis. There are some circumstances that need to be ta- ken into consideration when planning such investment. These are the market size, i.e. the size of the population which we are to secure with petroleum deri- vatives, and the ability of the market to absorb supply. The third element is the availability of the cheapest possible raw materials.
