8.10Floor Coverings:  

The patient compartment floor covering shall be impervious vinyl, "no-wax" type material installed in a manner to eliminate voids and recesses.  Floor shall be of a "roll-up" design that is rolled up and under the edge of the side cabinets and squad bench. This installation method eliminates the visible floor trim that can collect contaminants and allow body fluids to seep behind trim pieces. This roll-up is to also form a threshold to prevent fluids on the patient area floor from contaminating the cab area. The covering shall be Lonplate II tread plate design.

8.11    Step well (side door):

The curb side door step well shall be automatically lit when the side or rear doors are opened.  The step well shall be finished with highly polished aluminum diamond plate.

Windows:  

There shall be a window in each of the three patient compartment access doors.  The window frame shall be of an extruded aluminum design with a protective anodized finish.  

Windows shall be tinted.

8.13Insulation:

The "second stage" manufacturer shall supply an insulating material that is nonflammable with a Class A, Class 1 fire rating.  It shall be certified to meet the smoke and flammability requirements of FMVSS 302.  The insulation shall be 3.5" thick, high temperature resistant unfaced fiberglass insulation that has an R-12 thermal rating.  Fiberglass insulation has proven to be a much better sound and thermal barrier over other materials due to the confined areas that it is installed in.

8.14Interior Surfaces:   

All vertical edges of cabinets shall be of a radius/rolled finish design to free the interior of the patient's compartment of  all sharp edges or projections. The counter top of the action area and telemetry area will be covered with a vacuum formed ABS insert.
