8.19Interior Storage Accommodations:  

The interior of the patient compartment shall provide a minimum volume of 1 cubic meter (35 cubic feet) of enclosed storage cabinetry, compartment space, and shelf space which shall be conveniently located for medical supplies, devices, and installed systems as applicable for the service intended. Enclosed compartments and spaces shall be located at, in, or on the partition, side walls, overhead, squad bench, technician seat, and doors. Compartment(s) under the floor, with opening panel(s) inside the patient compartment, shall not be acceptable.   A “chimney” type storage compartment shall be located at the front of the action area next to the 02 cylinder valve access and extend to the bottom of the cabinet above.  The compartment shall have 3 adjustable shelves and access via plexi-glass door with positive latch device and handle.  A cabinet with sliding door shall be located under the “secondary action area” with adjustable shelf.  Area above side entry door shall include storage for three (3) boxes of standard sized medical gloves.  The compartment shall include a single door with three (3) cutouts and dividers for each size of gloves.  It shall be hinged at the top to allow for restocking including a positive light.  The compartment shall not protrude or hinder entrance or exit to the patient module.  Cabinets shall be a design that maximizes all available space.  Cabinets over primary action area shall be a minimum of 12” high and 17” deep.

8.19.1The patient compartment shall allow for the following cabinet and/or storage requirements:

Right Front Cabinet Inside/outside access. Interior doors to be dual wood

with Plexiglas inserts.  Heating and Air-Conditioning

unit shall be mounted in a horizontal fashion above

the cabinet to allow for full width of the ALS cabinet.

CPR SeatLocated on the street side of patient compartment           with a fold down backrest with counter surface and

flip up seat for storage.  Secondary action area

shall be provided.

Inside/Outside AccessIn addition to the right front ALS cabinet, inside            access for the street side rear compartment will be            furnished.  The upper section only of the street side            rear compartment will be accessible via a sliding            Plexiglas window.

Overhead CabinetLocated above the squad bench from the side entry door opening to the rear of the squad bench.  Cabinet to have three (3) sections, each with a sliding Plexiglas door.
