Most people rush around continually engaging in ‘busy’ habits that actually reduce their
effectiveness. It is so important to focus on results and not on just being busy. productivity is about how much you can accomplish, not how busy you are.

But to help you to begin thinking and working differently, here are six quick productivity ideas to get you moving.
PRODUCTIVITY IDEA 1: HANDLING YOUR ‘TO BE READ’ PILE
Have a look around your office or work station. Do you have a visible pile of ‘to be read’ papers? These are articles, reports and other information that you have put aside with the intention of reading them when you get around to it. Usually the pile just keeps growing and you feel guilty every time you look at it because you haven’t had the time to get around to even reading any of it.
TAKING CONTROL OF THE PILE
So here’s what to do! Take 30 minutes and go through the pile, scanning the documents quickly. Be ruthless and throw out anything more than four months old. The truth is if you haven’t looked at it within four months it really is not that important to you and to now take up your precious time.
OUT OF SIGHT IT OUT OF GUILT
Now with a much smaller pile left, don’t leave it where you can see it. Looking at the pile all the time only makes it a psychological burden and causes you unnecessary guilt and stress. So now put it all in a box and put it out of sight.
Please forward on and share these productivity ideas with others in the workplace.
