Sand Dollar, Reef Club, April 2000, Jim and Connie Molbeck, Racine, WI. Vis: 50 to 75 ft. Water: warm, choppy, strong currents. Dive your own profile: no. Dive restric- tions: always with divemaster. They provided good drinking water, also the food and ice were edible. Downside: no Mexican culture; we could have been in US except for Spanish accents of waiters, all speaking English. Cosmopolitan food, American music; all were US guests (a few Europeans).

Guided dives; first dive 80-90 feet for twenty- five minutes second dive 40-50 feet for 45 minutes. The walls were great for wide angle. On the shallower reefs there were lots of opportunities for photos of fish. Macro was difficult due to the currents on most dives. Only eight divers per dive guide in the underwater park. Dive restrictions: generally 100 feet, 700 lbs to begin ascent to safety stop — 1st dive usually 45 minutes, 2nd dive 55-60 minutes 4th visit to Scuba Club. Staff turnover has been minimal and our arrival was like a family reunion. Accommodations, food and service were top notch as usual. This resort is set up for divers and everything revolves around diving and the dive schedule. Mario, the restaurant manager, accommodates the night boat divers who are late getting back, meeting us at the dock to let us know that we can still get dinner — if we are quick. No one went hungry. Dive operations is friendly and efficient. Boats are clean and in good repair. No boat was over crowded. Boats had table and dunk tanks. No on site processing. Town close by and prices reasonable for processing. Service and repair facilities available for Sea and Sea at La Ceiba Hotel. Boat crews were friendly, fun and helpful. Divemasters were great.
