MLDXCC Club Meeting minutes for November 2005

The meeting was called to order by Pres. D. Wilson at 12:26 PM.

Minutes of previous meeting were approved as printed in ‘Nugget’, as was the Treasurer’s report.

The report of the nominating committee was given. The committee submitted a list of members willing and able to serve as officers;

President; Rich Hill, NU6T

Vice president/contest chair, Rick Karlquist, N6RK

Secretary; Kay Anderson, K6KO

Treasurer; Carolyn Wilson, K6TKD

Board members; Ken Anderson, K6TA & Dick Wilson, K6LRN

Nominations will be opened again at December meeting before a vote is taken.

ARRL Pacific Division Director Bob Vallio, W6RGG will have a ‘cabinet’ meeting on December 3, 2005 at Livermore, CA. Rich Hill would try to attend. MLDX/CC member and SM, Jettie Hill, W6RFF will also be attending.

Gary Stilwell, KI6T brought up subject of meeting place. President explained it was a matter of those present voting. It should possibly have been decided by a member vote, but as there was no objection, it was determined that for the immediate future, meetings will be held at the RT Pizza.

Discussion about River City Contesters; Club seems to be inactive, former members are invited to attend and join MLDX/CC.

Kay Anderson, K6KO made DXCC Honor Roll. Congratulations!!

Rick Samoian, W6SR, talked briefly about CQ Worldwide SSB contest operation from K6KM’s station and thanked Bill & Ginny for hosting.

Entertainment was supposed to have been a CD from Paolo, I2UIY that proved unplayable.

Discussion on California QSO Party had people talking about scores & ‘war stories’. No action needed or taken.

There was discussion about operating strategies for upcoming ARRL Sweepstakes-

SSB & CW and the CW part of CQ WW. See separate article for scores. Writelog was also discussed. No action needed or taken.

Announcements; Ken & Kay Anderson, K6KO & K6TA will be active as P40K & P40TA in ARRL 160 and ARRL 10 M contests, December 3 & 11.

Ray Parker, ND6S will be in Bahamas operating as C6AGY.

Meeting adjourned at 1:22 PM
