WEST WENDOVER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF OCTOBER 17, 2006
The West Wendover City Council met for a regular meeting on October 17, 2006. The meeting was held at the West Wendover Library, Pilot Peak Room. Mayor Thaut presided.
Council Members Present: Emily Carter, Jimmy Carter, Jamey Christie, Johnny Gorum and Mike Miera
Others Present: Corinne Copelan, Ron Supp, Dale Lotspeich, Jeff Knudtson, Sandy Kelsey, Beverly Goheen, Bryce Kimber, Aleta Kimber, Mel Duke, Kerry Robinson, Thad Ballard, Jason Vance, Michelle Giovo, Roy Briggs, Chris Melville and Anna Bartlome
The following proceedings were had.
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Mayor Thaut called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All those present and excused are noted above.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Thaut led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
COMMENTS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC: Dale Lotspeich, candidate for Elko County Sheriff, stated that would not forget where Wendover is and would reorganize and restructure staff. Dale also stated that the expenses in the jail would be looked at when he takes office.
*APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Council Member Christie had changes to the minutes of October 10, 2006, under Department Updates for City Manager; the first change is as follows: “Chris stated that on October 25, 2006 there would be a CDBG workshop and in November the CDBG hearings will be on the agenda.” The next change to the same section is as follows: “Chris explained that on October 16, 2006 the Nevada Economic Development Commission had met regarding the grant application that had been submitted.” Council Member Christie made the motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of October 3, 2006 and the regular meeting of October 10, 2006 with the changes as noted above. The motion was seconded by Council Member Miera and passed unanimously.

Discussion and Decision to Authorize the Mayor to Execute the Appropriate and Required USDA Forms with Regard to the Letter of Conditions Issued on September 27, 2006 by the USDA-RD for Financial Assistance to Construct the West Wendover City Hall Government Complex Chris Melville explained that this was requested by USDA official approval is needed. Council Member Miera made the motion to authorize the Mayor to execute the appropriate and required USDA forms with regard to the letter of conditions issued on September 27, 2006 by the USDA-RD for financial assistance to construct the West Wendover City Hall
