Chapter Reports

Nineteen coaches attended the Central Plains Foretravel Fall Rally September 20-24, 2005 at the ABC (America’s Best Campground) in Branson, Missouri, including International President and First Lady, Al and Marion Rice. We had two new 1st timers attend and hope to see them back.

At last count, we had 140 members and we have an average of 20% participation and the chapter is doing well and is solvent. We will select officers at our December rally.

When you are in Florida, everyone is welcome to visit and attend any of our rallies.

The rally began with a Great American Cookout in the Celebrity Station Pavilion, followed by announcements, a welcome to our National President and wife, our Past National President and new members.

Paul Wolfkill, President

The days were filled with six shows schedules – Yakov Smirnoff (“What a Country”) and Pierce Arrow show, a good singing group who had the funniest comedian that had us all laughing; a luncheon cruise and show on the Branson Belle; an evening at the Ray Stevens Show; breakfast show with entertainer Tommy-O and an afternoon at the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum and show with Dusty Rogers.

After a Farewell Dinner in the Celebrity Station Pavilion, the final business meeting was held with a well deserved thanks to the out- going President and Secretary/Treasurer, Bob and Debbie Best (Oskaloosa, KS) for their commitment to the Central Plains Chapter and a welcome to the new President, J. Marshall Jung, M.D. and wife Betty, Secretary/Treasurer, #12590. Vice President will be Wayne Eliason.

We look forward to the Spring Rally (May) in Minden, Nebraska (Pioneer Village) and the Fall Rally in Medicine Lodge, Kansas for a time of celebration and historical re-enactment. We invite new Foretravel owners and the seasoned Foretravel owners to the Rallies.

Five members of the Four Corners Chapter attended the Grandvention in Columbus, IN. They were:

#14938 Ken & Ann Lemon #15422 Rick & Gerry Arnold #15635 John & Donna Van Houten #15900 Bill & Diana Rankin #15180 Marshall & Amy Watson We had a great time and enjoyed the fellowship of other Motorcade Club members.

After the Grandvention, we proceeded on to Portales, NM for the start of the Foru Corners Chapter Fall Rally. October 10th was the beginning of 3 busy days in Portales. Among our many activities was a tour of a Peanut Butter Plant, a Coca Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling facility, a tour of a PBS TV Station, a tour of the Davis Furniture Co., and, of course, plenty to eat and good fun. A delicious grilled steak and chicken dinner was supplemented by the members’ pot luck. These Foretravel RV’ers sure know how to put on a “spread”.

Betty Jung #12590 Debby Best #15037 Secretary/Treasurer

On October 13th we moved to Roswell, NM for another 3 days. There we toured the UFO Museum, an Art Gallery, a very large Dairy Farm, a Pecan Ranch, breakfast at an Outer Space McDonalds, and toured the outstanding New Mexico Military Institute and had lunch with some cadets.

The Chapter has had four rallies in the last year and has four scheduled for the year 2006.

At the Farewell Dinner, a token gift was given to Joe and Ellen Sharp #4053, for 32 years of membership in the Motorcade Club.

We have our rallies scheduled to start in October when most of us return to Florida for the winter, and our last one is in March, before many of us head North for the summer. In between, we will have had a Christmas rally the first week of December. Then we have a pre-rally before the FMCA Southeast Area Rally in Brooksville, FL., which is the first week of February.

What a week we had! Hope to see “you’all” at our Spring Rally in Grand Junction, CO.
