International President & First Lady

Wally & Billye West, #14796

Hello Motorcaders:

First of all, I want to tell you what an honor it is to serve as your International President for the coming year, and we look forward to visiting with your chapters. For those of you who were not at the Grandvention in Columbus, IN, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Wally West and my wife is Billye. We live on Hatteras Island in North Carolina and are members of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Even though we have not been Motorcaders for a great many years, we thoroughly enjoy our motorhome and have found, as the years pass, the more time we spend traveling in it the more we enjoy it.

addition, the value of our coaches would be drastically reduced, so it is in our best interest to do what we can to support the company. This can be accomplished, because we are the best sales representatives that Foretravel will ever have. So, whenever we have the opportunity, we should stress the high quality of our coaches and also the outstanding Motorcade Club that we enjoy. Our club sets us apart from all other high-end coach manufacturers, as we are the ONLY one with an outstanding traveling club. My old saying is “if you really want to know the value of a product, go back and ask the man who owns one.” This is not a new idea, because Henry Ford was very successful in using it! As for me, a full-page color ad in an RV magazine would have never convinced me to buy a Foretravel.

The Grandvention was truly a success. The large number of first-timers was quite impressive, totaling approximately 15% of all attendees. Peter and Katherine Hampton, along with all the staff, did an outstanding job with lots of games, food and more food! The entertainment was fantastic, and I did catch a few of you dancing!

The Indiana Motorcade was outstanding. We shared three weeks of fun, food, and camaraderie with our fellow motorcaders. We started this motorcade in Shipshewanna and ended in Nashville after seeing many wonderful areas of the state. Again, Peter and Katherine were responsible, and this was their last official motorcade as tour directors. We wish them well and hope that at some time in the future they will be able to return.

In such a short time, the new Foretravel owners have made great strides in restoring the creditability of Foretravel. Without a viable company, service and parts would represent a real problem for all Foretravel owners. In

We are busy trying to establish a schedule for chapter visits for the coming year. When you read this, we will have visited with the Florida Chapter in Kissimmee. Our hosts Norma and Dan Jurgens (#15638) and Leah and Tison Kelly (#14144) put on a fantastic rally. Pat Brewer (#12728) and Pete Peterson (#15522) made sure we started our days with a good breakfast. One evening was spent at the Arabian Knights Dinner Theater and much fun was had by all. We want to thank chapter president, Paul Wolfkill (#14434), for his hospitality.

As we travel to your rallies and motorcades, I will be interested to hear any feedback that I can pass along to the Club Manager and the company.

And in closing, again, it is an honor and privilege to serve as your International President. Billye and I look forward to visiting as many chapter rallies as we can. Until then, stay healthy, drive safe, and we will see you down the road.
