God has blessed us incredibly in this new year. Saturday before last, Derek Preslar was baptized into Christ here at the building. Derek is the son of Scott and Deidre Preslar. Last Sunday evening Gale Hunt responded to the invitation and was baptized and his wife Carol also came wanting to be a part of the Sunset congregation. We rejoice with this couple and welcome them to our church family! Then on Tuesday, Sam and Bonnie Hammock came up to the church building with a small group of family and friends to witness Sam’s baptism into Christ. We rejoice with heaven over all these new Christians!! Welcome them. Pray for them. Get to know them.
Steve Powers, the brother of Mike Powers, will be our guest speaker in March for a two day series on “Jesus, Seen Through the Eyes of Peter”. He will speak on Saturday, March 6 following a pot luck dinner and then all day on Sunday, March 7. Be praying for this time of enrichment.
Keep the prayers going for Mainor Perez and his legal paperwork which will allow him to begin his work here and bring his wife and daughters to Springfield. Also continue to pray for the property search for the Willard Church Plant.
Let me encourage you to stay current in your Bible readings. Something powerful happens in the lives of those who are daily feeding on the Word. Joe
