SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT OCTOBER 19, 2009 7:00 p.m.

ARTICLE A: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from Community Preservation Act undesignated funds, a sum up to $107,782.80 for the purpose of replacing the slate roof with a new slate roof on the Town Hall, including all incidental costs thereto; or act on anything relative thereto.

RECOMMENDATION OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE: That the Town transfer from Community Preservation Act undesignated funds a sum up to ONE HUNDRED SEVEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO DOLLARS and 80 CENTS ($107,782.80) to pay the costs of placing a new slate roof on the Town Hall for the preservation and restoration of an historical resource, including all incidental costs thereto. Voted 5-0-2.

RECOMMENDATION OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN: That the Town vote to approve the article as written. Voted 4-0

VOTE OF THE TOWN MEETING: The vote of the Town Meeting was to approve the article as recommended by the Finance Committee as declared by the Moderator.

ARTICLE B: To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of MGL c. 64L, §2(a) authorizing the imposition of a local excise in the statutory amount of .75% on the sale of restaurant meals originating within the town; or act on anything relative thereto.

ARTICLE C: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate, borrow or transfer from available funds, a sum of money to be expended under the direction of the School Building Committee for the renovation of and construction of and addition to the Burgess Elementary School including all costs incidental or related thereto, all of which shall be located at 45 Burgess School Road in Sturbridge, which school facility shall have an anticipated useful life as an educational facility for the instruction of school children of at
