The trip will finish with a tour of the Coffs Harbour Regional Airport, one of the largest and busiest regional airports in New South Wales. Handling regional, domestic and international style aircraft, the Airport is currently serviced by three carriers - Qantas, Virgin Blue and Brindabella Airlines.

With the capacity to handle aircraft up to the size of a 240-seat Boeing 767, the airport currently handles over 26,000 aircraft movements per annum, 5,000 of which are for passenger aircraft. The terminal handles approximately 300,000 passengers each year.

This field trip is suited to those interested in the change in development opportunities from reliance on a primary production base to tertiary (service) industry based projects.

Social Activities & Pre & Post Touring Options

Coffs Harbour is one of the best sea change destinations in Australia. The city has a striking backdrop of verdant subtropical rainforests along rolling hills and ridge tops. Further west, there’s the escarpment of World Heritage listed Dorrigo National Park and beyond. Along the coast are headlands and uncrowded golden beaches on which to relax, swim and unwind. The Whale Watching Season lasts to the end of October, so perhaps this is your opportunity to view these wonderful creatures.
