engine is being replaced or if the coolant was contaminated with oil. Disconnect heater hoses at the shut-off valves on the engine. Disconnect hoses at the water filter. Disconnect block heater, if so equipped. Disconnect fuel lines at the fuel filter. Disconnect fuel return hose at rear of block. Disconnect hydraulic supply hose at the hydraulic pump. Disconnect power steering pressure hose at the hydraulic pump. Disconnect O-1 governor air line from the O-1. Disconnect air compressor main discharge air line at the compressor. Remove the chassis harness connector from ECU. Remove all cables from the starter. If the bus has a retarder, remove the retarder oil cooler from the chassis. Disconnect oil pressure hose from block. Disconnect battery, ground, and tachometer cables from alternator. Remove exhaust pipe from the turbocharger. Remove transmission dipstick support at the hydraulic

filter assembly. Disconnect transmission oil cooler temperature sensor at the transmission.

Disconnect speedometer sensor at rear of transmission.

  • a.

    Disconnect speed sensor at lower front corner of transmission.

  • b.

    Disconnect transmission harness from the chassis harness at the connection on the left side of the transmission.

  • c.

    Remove the harness mounting bracket at top of transmission.

Remove drive shaft from transmission, tie up out of the way. The bundle of hoses and harnesses on the right side of the engine can be confusing as to how they should be handled. The following suggestions are offered:

a. Cut the tie wraps that hold this bundle together. Some of the hoses and harnesses are attached to the chassis, others to the engine. When the tie
