POTTERY AT ANGELFIRE STUDIOS – DEWEY MEADOWS – Basking Ridge

WHEEL THROWING -

BEGINNERS-

Tuesday 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. check for weekly schedule.

Thursday 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Saturday 12:00 p.m. -1:30 p.m.

Six week session’s    $195.00    $60.00 deposit is required. Meet for 1 1/2 hours, once a week.

$35.00 materials fee includes 251b. bag of stoneware. Glazes and firing, and tool rentals. Temporary storage of work.

Glazes and firing, and tool rentals. Temporary storage of work. Studios hours are available to work on your own whenever a pottery wheel are free. College students will receive a %10 discount. Call for availability. Artists who wish to throw on their own may purchase a 25 lb. bag of clay, rent tools, and utilize kiln and glazes. Minimum fee is $35.00 for materials. Wheels may be used at $20.00 per hour. Additional glazes and clay bodies may be ordered upon request.

CHILDREN'S CLASSES - Children under 12, will be learning the art of hand building projects. Techniques such as coiling, slab rolling, and pinch pots will be the basis of building functional.

Bowls, sculptures, cups, vases, and more. Meets for four weeks - $ 95.00 $30.00 deposit is required. Meet for 11/2 hours, once a week. $20.00 materials fee includes: Unlimited stoneware.

Glazes and firing, and tool rentals. Temporary storage of work. Saturday 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Mommy (or Paddy) and Me; For $60.00 you can hand build pottery together with your child for 2 hours. Clay supply is unlimited and so is the fun.

BEG1NNERS  Six week schedule:

Week 1: Wedging-introduction to throwing on the wheel (practice centering and throwing small cylinders).

Week 2: Introduction to trimming.

Week 3: Concentrate on centering. Practice lifting even walls. Practice, practice and more practice.

Week 4: Introduction to height and shape using rubber ribs and a variety of tools.

Week 5: Combine height and shape to create unique forms. Introduction to bowls.

Week 6: Glazing

I highly recommend coming in to the studio in between your classes to trim your greenware ( pottery when leather hard, as opposed to trimming during class time- Use that time to create and throw!!!)

INTERMEDIATE

We will explore new techniques such as bottles, large bowls, and lids. Students can progress at their own pace.

The pottery created in the studio MUST be picked up after final firing due to the limited amount of space available. Sundays, the studio is officially closed, however, if you would like to make a private" session please feel free to call for an appointment.
