Where do I start? What a National Event! I will start with many well deserved “Thank You’s”. Patty St. Onge, who took on being the Show Secretary, which was a huge job. Pam Kozak, who was the show chair; Frank Parker, who was the Obedience chair. Thanks to both of you the show went on in spite of the rain. “Thank you” to my George and my kids that helped set up for the show, and a very special “thank you” to a special young lady that is like my right hand, Amanda Larson.
“Thanks” to Jeannie Wright and Teresa Marley for the Brown Bag raffle and Auction. There were many very nice things, even if I didn’t win anything. Tina Borg won the Feather painting of a dog and birds. It now hangs in a very special place in their new house. “Thank you” to John Liemohn for being the auctioneer and Teresa for being “Vana White.” The auction was a lot of fun and the items that were donated were exceptional.
know soon if the dogs that had passing scores will be able to use this test as a pass that will go along with their AKC Flushing Spaniel passes to put a (first time ever) AKC title on their AWS.
October 21st, I leave for St. Louis, MO for an AKC- Canine Health Foundation National Parent Club Canine Health Conference. The schedule consists of three days of continuous speakers on topics such as Development of & Use of Canine Health Surveys, Selection & Funding of CHF Grants, Cell Therapy for Cardiovascular Disease, Behavior, and the list goes on and on. I am hoping to visit with some of the speakers relative to the survey that we need to get sent out and other interests that have been brought to my attention. I am working on a Poster for a contest that is being held. I am hoping to win a prize of $500, $300, or $150 that will e made to the Donor Advised Fund of the Parent Club. Wish me luck.
“Thanks” to Steve Christiansen, Paul Rylance, Jack Davies, James McKibbin, and George Zenk for taking care of the Hunt Tests and the Roustabout. The Roustabout had 22 teams and BISS CH Game CR Waterway Jack of Hearts, WD along with his team of Pam Boyer and Steve Boyer took first place.
Once again, I want to thank everyone who helped make our Nationals a success.
Patty held the Water Derby in very little water, but everyone still had fun. Deb, Sharilee, Linda, and Beth held fun events that I did not get to participate in or watch as I was helping Patty keep time at the Water Derby.
The annual meeting was exceptionally long. Congratulations to Martha Sbarbori, our new secretary and David McCracken, our new Director. I want to thank Jeannie Wright and Janice Heck for their hard work while on the board. I am a better person for getting to know and work with these two exceptional individuals.
