Many Chapters are looking for ways to improve show attendance or to encourage new members or collectors to join a chapter or visit a show. For many years the traditional flyers, printed newsletter and word of mouth worked.

The tried and true can raffle is still fairly functional, but word of the raffle still has to make its way to the breweriana enthusiast. Raffles at shows also work to some extent, but the success is largely dependent on who shows up, and what type of prizes are available.

With memberships in decline and the average age of our existing membership over 50, new ways of attracting younger collectors or off-the-radar collectors into our chapters and the BCCA are going to be needed if the organization is to survive. On page 6 is an interesting approach being taken by the Grand Prize Chapter. Check it out. The marketing vehicle is a free on line newsletter that will be distributed to every collector taking part in the raffle of one very nice can. See page 6 for the can. If the marketing concept catches, the local membership in the small BCCA chapters may be a small fraction compared to its global membership.

The 12 Horse Chapter of the B.C.C.A. wants you to get our goat. We will be raffling off this Utica Club Bock Beer Zip Tab.

We will be selling tickets all year and the drawing will be held at our spring show,
