Getting the most out of your flyers

  • Use striking, eye catching visuals.

  • Include only necessary information (time, ticket price, venue, dates).

  • Keep details clear and easy to read.

  • Don’t try to pack too much in there – you can over do it.

  • Avoid the Flop Factor. Use a good weight of paper so your leaflet doesn’t wilt in the display racks.

  • Talk to your printer. Avoid potential problems with handling format and colours.

  • Ask for advice. For example, some inks rub off when handled or packaged, some paper formats may not be appropriate for the job.

  • Buy Now, Don’t Pay Later. Think ahead when planning your print quantities. This will avoid unnecessary print re-runs, which cost more in the long run. If you have different information for different leaflets, check if they can be printed at the same time – again this will save money.

  • Handle With Care. Ask your printer to package and deliver your print in secure bundles and strong boxes. This will protect your print throughout the various stages of transportation and distribution.

  • Grab Their Attention. If you plan on using a professional distribution company, think about how your flyer will look in the display racks. Use the top third of your leaflet to grab attention.

  • Love Your Planet. Try to use recycled of FSC approved paper where possible.
