ESRD Drugs Excluded from Part D

  • e Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released guidance announcing the exclusion

of Part D payment for drugs included in the end-stage renal disease (ESRD) prospective payment. Effective January 1, 2011, Passport Advantage (PAD) will mirror this CMS requirement. PAD dialysis facilities are now required to furnish all renal dialysis services, including ESRD-related drugs.
