Pre-Meeting Welcome all girls by name as they arrive. Have them prepare to share about their birthdays by drawing a picture about what they did on their last birthday or what they would like to do for their next birthday.
Opening Join hands and, as you move around and around in the circle, say the jingle you introduced in meeting #1.
Sit in the Brownie Girl Scout ring. Have each girl share her birthday picture.
Business and Planning Collect dues, if your troop uses this method of money collection, and share the treat. Review the Girl Scout Promise and sign. Explain about special days in Girl Scouting as found on page 20 and 21 of the handbook.
Major Activity Read to the girls the last half of the “Brownie Girl Scout Story” found on pages 29-32 of the handbook showing the pictures as you tell the story.
Explain the Brownie Girl Scout Try Its. (see page 28 of the handbook, 5 of the Try It guide and 10-13 of the Leaders guide) Make the “Finger Puppets” or “Paper Bag Puppet” on page 72 of the Try It guide as part of the Try It, “Puppets, Dolls, and Plays.” Have the girls act out the “Brownie Girl Scout Story” as explained on page 38 of the Leaders guide. (This idea could be used if Daisy Girl Scouts are invited to your meeting in the future.)
Clean-Up and Closing Use clean-up suggestions from meeting #1.
Teach the song “Make New Friends” as found on page 30 of the Brownie Girl Scout Song Book.
