Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY

RCIA-The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

Above the angel baptismal fonts in church as you exit church are two slots for donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. This society is a world- wide organization dedicated to helping the poor. At St. Barbara, we are very fortunate to have a small group of dedicated parishioners who form our local parish chapter. Not all parishes have a St. Vincent de Paul Society. Our parish St. Vincent de Paul So- ciety chapter sponsors a small food pantry kept stocked by our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Would you like to explore the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church?

Are you or do you know someone who is interested in becoming a Catholic?

Are you or do you know someone who is a baptized adult Catholic who would like to be confirmed?

Are you or do you know someone who is baptized in an- other Christian denomination and interested in the Catho- lic Church?

Also, because of your monetary donations, our local society is able to help those individuals or families which may have fallen on hard times. Any contri- butions made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society helps the less fortunate. Because of increased re- quests for help, our SVD Society funds have be- come very low. Any contributions made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society helps the less fortu- nate.

If so, you are invited to fill the form below and drop it in the Sunday collection basket or the parish office. You will be contacted soon. Meanwhile, if you have any ques- tions, please call the parish office @ (312) 842-7979 or speak to Fr. Dennis before or after Masses.

The illumination of St. Barbara Stained Glass Window is a special way of remembering someone prayerfully. For a donation of $100.00, this remembrance can be for someone celebrating a birthday, a couple celebrating their anniversary, for someone sick in need of prayers, for the repose of someone who has died in the Lord, etc. To give a remembrance, call the church office for available dates.

Remember those who are hospitalized, homebound and those in need of our continued prayers.
