Plantation Lodge

For those wanting a great, homestead style lodge, rather than the big hotels on the Crater Rim, then look no further! Similar in style and location to Gibbs, Plantation is great value for money!

Guide Price$550 * Recommended *

Sopa and Serena

Both good lodges of which the Sopa has the more private location on the other side of the Crater but the Serena has the better service and rooms. (we prefer the Serena!)

Guide Price$550

Gibbs Farm

A small lodge half way between Lake Manyara and the Crater (at Karatu) – small homely feel though most prefer to stay on the crater rim itself and avoid a 60 minute drive to and from the Crater.

Guide Price$550

The Manor

This 20 room country-like mansion is located on the boundary of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with access to the crater only 30 minutes away. The Manor is a very modern setting with a colonial-like ambience to it. However, it does have an ultra luxurious service with an opulent finish to everything.

This is where most people spend the majority of their Northern Circuit safari.  Huge expanses of short grass plains make game viewing exceptionally good. The Serengeti is justifiably famous for its huge concentrations of game especially the predators and of course the migration at certain times of the year.  There are 3 main regions – the North, the Western corridor and the Central Serengeti.

Kleins The CCAfrica property in the North of the Serengeti, Kleins commands superb views across a steep valley.  Since it is outside the park proper night drives and walks are possible. Good all year round…but particularly from July until November when the herds arrive.  One of our favourite lodges in Africa !

Grumeti Reserves

Right at the top end for both luxury and cost Sasakwa or its two satellite camps Sabora  and Faru Faru each offer a different experience of safari, in ultimate luxury, in this private concession to the NW of the Serengeti.

Guide Price $1,655 and $995*Recommended*

A great little (15 room) permanent tented lodge in the extreme north of the Serengeti.  Superb location for watching the Migration cross in our summer months. Equipped with 2 separate dining rooms you’d have no idea this is a 15 tent camp!    Another of our favourites

Guide Price$775* Recommended *

Dunia and Olakira

Asilias Mobile camps that track the migration these are awesome little tented camps. If you want to get right into the “thick of it” then look no further.

Guide Price$640* Recommended *
