Mike Rogers Retires
J. Michael Rogers, distinguished service professor of music, retired in January. At an April 20 dinner held in his honor, Rogers was praised for his 28 and a half years’ service to the College and his sincere interest in students.
A skilled woodwind and keyboard artist, Mike Rogers directed the Methodist College Stage Band and taught music appreciation, instrumental music, and other courses in the Music Department. He also composed many works for the synthesizer and served as organist at College commencements throughout the 1980s and 90s.
He and his wife Sheri now live in Cherryville, NC.
