Overview of Implementing PM Framework and PM Viewer

Setting up PM Viewer User Profiles

The PM Viewer introduces the concept of "Basic Users" and "Advanced Users" which need to be set up before running reports. These two PM Viewer user profiles differentiate users in their use of the PM Viewer scheduling feature.

In this release, PM Viewer reports and portlets can be scheduled to run at any frequency you may desire. However, to facilitate this task, and also to reduce the number of concurrent requests which may be created, it is recommended that a PM Viewer power user, i.e., Advanced User, create default schedules and assign them to the reports so that when Basic Users run the reports and portlets, they see a frequency assigned to the reports and decide whether or not they want to subscribe to it. This process simplifies procedures for basic users, who do not need to spend time defining a frequency.

To set up the PM Viewer User Profiles, do the following:

  • 1.

    Log in Oracle windows using the System Administrator Responsibility.

  • 2.

    For each user who will be creating default schedules and assigning them to reports, Set User Profile Option from PM Viewer to be "Advanced Users."

  • 3.

    For all users who will only be navigating reports and viewing portlets, Set User Profile Option from PM Viewer to be "Basic Users."
