Creating New Performance Measures

Creating Target Function Fields for New Performance Measures (Optional)

If you want to calculate or read the target value for a performance measure from the source database, you must create a target function field. If you do not create target function fields, users can manually enter target values for the performance measure. This step is optional and should be performed by an administrator.

To create a new target function field, do the following:

1.

Create a PL/SQL package and function.

The function should take BIS_TARGET_PUB.Target_Rec as the IN parameter, and return a NUMBER.

Discuss the functionality and logic of this package function with your executive user or functional lead.

  • 2.

Register your function as a form function in Oracle Applications by doing the following.

    • a.

Navigate to Application > Function using the Application Developer responsibility.

    • b.

In the form function field, use the PL/SQL package and function name that you created in step 1 as the form function name.

    • c.

In the Type field, enter BISTAR.

For information on how to register a form function, see the Oracle Applications User Guide.

Once you have created a new target function field, you can create a new workflow for the new performance measure. See: Creating Corrective Action Workflows for New Performance Measures (Optional) on page 3-6.
