Caterpillar Leo-wheel loader

Hitachi ZX350LC-3

Caterpillar 365C ES UHD

The Caterpillar dealer Avesco suppied an eye catching display for the Construction exposition in Bern this year. The 996G wheel loader owned by Avesco was painted in a leopard look. Since June 2009 Thomas Merz has been the ma- naging director of the Merz Group and proud owner of the „cat“. The Merz Kies AG (Merz Gravel Inc) does not have a tiger in the tank but now has a leopard in the gravel pit. The 966G wheel loader is main- ly used in re-loading and compli- ments the fleet of wheel loaders at the gravel pit in Gebensdorf near Baden. The leo-loader is equipped with a rear view camera, joy stick steering, central lubrication system and a particulate filter. (up)

For the first time in Switzerland, a Hitachi ZX350LC-3 fitted with a special boom for deep excavations has been used. The telescoping ex- cavator arm reaches to a maximum depth of 25 meters and the attached twin prong excavating grab mea- sures 1250 milimeters wide and has a capacity of 1.5 cubic meters. The high retraction and extension speed of the boom creates a fluid movement of the arm and this fea- ture ensures a high productivity. The operator’s cabin can be moved frontally by 1.3 meters to allow the operator an unobstructed view of the excavating attachment. When the additional counter weight is installed, the excavator reaches a production weight of 42.8 tons. (up)

Since last autum, the firm of Zindel in Maienfeld has been the proud owner of a Caterpillar 365C ES UHD. The demolition excava- tor is equipped with an adjustable hydraulic under carriage and the weight of the attachment without the extension is 5 tons and has a reach of 27 meters. The ES code represents „Extreme Service“ me- aning that the 365C is equiped with the largest and the heaviest 385C driving platform. The boom is also an in-house design from Ca- terpillar, but Avesco undertook the extensive modifications as reques- ted by the client. (up)
