2010 is the year of the BAUMA. February also marks the opening of the yearly Nuremberg Toy Fair. We dare to make some forecasts.
the BAGGERMODELLE Team
he following collection of pro- gnoses is the personal opinion and hopes of the BAGGERMO- DELLE team and in no way can be construed to be complete nor is it an announcement for new, yet to be released models. The informati- on at hand is based on rumours ripe before the opening of the show and experience. What models are produced will be decided by the manufacturer of the prototypes. A special thank you goes out to Ste- ven Downes who has the “best ru- mour mill” Internet site. T
As hope springs eternal, we still hope that the model of the Menck M154 will be delivered this year.
A model of the Liebherr R924 Compact tunnel excavator and the Liebherr R954C demolition ma- chine would round off the excava- tor program and further models in the Case and Poclain model ranges are highly likely. Putzmeister and Schwing usually commission mo- dels for Bauma which have typi- cally been produced by Conrad.

Toy Fair Talk
Since the HD-21 (see BAGGER- MODELLE 6-2009) everybody had been waiting for the HD-41 by Allis-Chalmers in 1:50. Ever since First Gear issued a low loader trai- ler with an excavator bucket for a large machine, speculations about an upcoming release of the Komat- su PC 1250 have been running high. Certainly a loading machine for the Komatsu 960 is in the cards. The candidates for this are the PC8000 or PC5500 mining excavators or the WA1200 wheel loader.
will appear. Other possibilities for new Cat-models are the 374D, the 328D LCR tunnelling excavator, the 988H wheel loader or a dumper like the 740. To match the offerings of the introduction of the diesel- electric propulsion system, a mo- del of the 795F AC is likely. But the 793F and the newest F-Version of the popular 777 would round off the program nicely. The new “D” series of wheeled and tracked pa- vers are also likely to appear.
In 1:87 scale co-operation bet- ween those players could lead to functional models in this scale. The wheeled loader WA800-2 or Dumper HD785-5 come to mind.
Volvo EC700 is a long awaited model for the collector, especially the versions with three piece de- molition boom and concrete shear attachment.
Caterpillar will introduce a new series of demolition excavators and it is very possible that a new model to support the release also
If a new series of Liebherr articu- lated dump trucks is introduced on the stand at Bauma, it is a safe bet to say that a model of the same will not be long in coming.
An absolute must is a model of the new giant excavator R9800 and possibly also the smaller R9100 and a matching T282 in the latest C-Version of course. Also overdue is a new pipe layer model with ru- mours pointing to an RL64.
Now that the postponed release of the 1:50th scale P&H 4100XPC has been re-announced for next fall, it looks like we can hope for a historical P&H Excavator mo- del, especially so since a picture of such a model has made the rounds of several Internet sites.
