The Institute has an up-to-date library, one of the best in Central India, especially concerning Chemical Engineering and Technology. Many important National and International Journals are being subscribed. The subscription of e-journals and installation of Digital Library is in progress.
Students of this Institute not only attend lectures, but are also trained to carry out a thorough literature survey and prepare project report on particular topics. They are also required to deliver seminars on the topics of recent developments in the field of Chemical Engineering and Technology. The students are also required to go for industrial training in summer and take part in industrial tour. The students’ committee conducts the technical and extra-curricular activities of the students. The major activities include Annual Social Gathering, Institute Journal, Photographic Societies, Music and Debate Competitions, Sports, Exhibitions etc.
The teachers too, are actively engaged in research, analysis and consultancy work. The research work carried out is connected with developing processes for small scale production, based on locally available raw materials, improving existing processes and theoretical work. Analytical work is also carried out regularly for the benefit of the industries of the region.
The institute has received development grants from various/agencies such as Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Department of Bio- Technology (DBT) for establishment of research laboratories. Presently projects worth more than Rs. 1.5 corers funded by above organizations are in progress.
