Men: Regulation nameplate is centered between the top of the button and the top of the flap of the right breast pocket of the Class A or Blues jacket and on the Class B shirt.
Women: Regulation nameplate is worn 1 or 2 inches above the top button of the Class A & Blues jacket and centered horizontally on the wearer’s right side. On the Class B shirt it is worn in a comparable position.
Pull-over sweater: Nameplate is centered 1/4 inch above the bottom of the black patch. (See illustration on page 16.)
Branch Insignia (mandatory)
The Corps of Engineers is the traditional and appropriate branch for the VMI faculty in the Virginia Militia (Army component). If a faculty or staff member has prior service experience or some other reason to be commissioned in another branch, or service, request should be made in writing to the Superintendent.
On the Class A Uniform & Blues Jacket : Men and Women (new jacket): The branch insignia is centered on both lapels 1 1/4 inches below the VA insignia. The insignia is positioned so that the centerline of the insignia bisects the centerline of theVA insignia and parallel to the inside edge of the lapel.
