Garifuna Landing (optional):

Whether you are departing on Sunday or staying on you can still participate in the morning re-enactment of the landing of the Garifuna people on the coast of Central America. Each November, as part of the National Garifuna Council of Belize's affirmation of its cultural traditions, the little known story of the Garifuna is retold. (see Sunday agenda for details). Cost: $5 roundtrip, Purchase at registration.
Marketplace at the King Foyer The Marketplace is a space for Partnerships and local vendors to display their projects and sell their crafts. Participating Partnerships: Virginia/Santa Catarina, Iowa/Yucatan, Ecuador/Kentucky, D.C./Brasilia, Brazil, Paraguay/Kansas. Belizean handicrafts will also be on sale.
Currency The Belize Dollar (BZE$) has a fixed rate of exchange of BZE$2 to US$1. Always make sure that you understand whether the dollar rate being quoted is in Belize dollars or U.S. dollars. Most hotels, resorts, restaurants and tour operators accept U.S. currency, credit cards and traveler's checks. ATMs are available to access Belize Dollars.

Shuttle Bus The Princess Hotel offers shuttle bus service to the airport. Register at hotel reception prior to departure. The cost is US$10.
Departure Tax US$31.25 payable in US currrency or credit card. There is an additional fee of BZE$2.50 security tax. If you are traveling by car or bus the Border Departure Fee is: US$18.75 or BZE$37.50. Fees apply to non-Belizean citizens or permanent residents of Belize.
