The Right Honorable Said Musa is the Prime Minister of Belize since 1998. He assisted in the drafting of the Independence Constitution of Belize in 1981 and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance, Minister of Education & Sports, Minister of Foreign Trade & Economic Development, Attorney General, and as a Senator with previous administrations. The Prime Minister is a Senior Counsel and a Senior Partner in the Law Firm of Musa & Balderamos. He is an honors graduate from the Faculty of Law at Manchester University, England.
His Excellency, Sir Colville Young, G.C.M.G., M.B.E., Ph.D., J.P. is the Governor General and Head of State of Belize. He has held this position since 1994. Sir Colville is a Linguist, an Educator, a Musician, a Composer, a Librettist, a Conductor, a Poet, and a prolific Creative Writer with honors degrees in English and Linguistics from the University of London (University College of the West Indies) and University of York. A former Fulbright Scholar, Sir Colville is listed in Who’s Who in the Commonwealth and Men and Women of Distinction and lectures widely overseas and in Belize on Belizean Language, Literature and Music. Some of his arrangements and compositions are available on CD.
Mrs. Espy Campbell Barr is the president of the Partido Acción Ciudadana and a Congresswoman in the Costa Rica Legislative Assembly. She has been coordinator of the Afro-Latino and Afro-Caribbean Women’s Network and is a founding member of the Afro-Costa Rican Women’s Center. Mrs. Campbell has written and lectured extensively on subjects such as employment, gender, racism, women’s rights, citizen participation and community development and is considered one of the most important political personalities in Costa Rica.
Hon. Zenaida Moya has had a distinguished career in public service and is the recently elected Mayor of Belize City. She is a graduate of Gonzaga University, (B.A., Econ.) Washington, U.S.A. and a post graduate of University of Detroit Mercy, (M.A. Econ.), Michigan, U.S.A. She was Registrar of Cooperatives and Credit Unions, Director of Public Sector Investment Program, Supervisor of Credit Unions and Senior Economist. She has represented Belize at several international conferences and seminars.
Hon. Mark Espat is the Minister of National Development, Investment and Culture in the Government of Belize. Over the past fifteen years Min. Espat has pursued a career in public service and politics, hospitality management and national tourism development and has served, at various times, as the Minister of Tourism, Economic Development and Investment, Information and Youth. He is President Pro-Tempore in the Organization Mundo Maya (OMM) and the Integration System for Central America (SICA). Minister Espat is a graduate of Viterbo College (B.A.) Wisconsin, U.S.A. He held managerial positions at Belize’s largest resort, the former Ramada Royal Reef Resort & Marina.
