Shop Foreman The employee who governs the adherence to the rules as well as the safe and efficient operation of the mechanical department.

Signal Indication Information conveyed by the aspect of a signal.
Single Track A main track upon which trains are operated in both directions.
Slack The accumulation of clearances and wear in the associated parts of the couplers and draft gears.
Slack Action Movements of a part of a coupled train at a different speed of another part of the same train.
Special Instructions Instructions issued to employees, which change, add to, or annul operating rules or other restrictions.
