Welcome Fr. Paul Habing at our weekend Masses. Fr. Paul resides in Ayaviri-Puno, Peru, throughout the year and returns home during the summer to visit with family and friends. Sacred Heart Parish has generously supported Fr. Paul in his mission to help sustain a spiritual and economical way of life for our Catholic brothers and sisters in the Andes Mountains of South America.

Pictorial Directory Photographs for the upcoming directory have been completed. We will begin taking pictures of the different councils and ministry groups. Please watch the bulletin for times and places when pictures will be taken. If you have any questions, contact Mary Jo Althoff at 342-6990.

Catholic Charities’ mission to assist those in the immediate area with food, clothing, counseling, foster care, and medicine is made possible by the support of our parish and community. Envelopes are included in your packets for Catholic Charities.

Baptism Class will be on Monday, July 23, at 7:00 P.M. at St. Anthony Parish Center. Sacred Heart parishioners are asked to register for the class by calling Darlene at the parish office 347-7177.

Crossroads Walkers will be stopping by Sacred Heart Parish Center on Tuesday, July 17, to share their mission and experiences they have encountered on their trip. Stop by anytime after 7:30 P.M. and meet these young people from all over the United States.

National NFP Awareness Week is July 22-28. Awareness Week promotes the principle behind the Natural Family Planning method through fertility education. A failure to respect married love’s power to help create new life has eroded respect for life and for the sanctity of marriage.

Sacred Heart School Coaches needed ~ Sacred Heart School has openings for boys basketball and boys track coaches for the 2007-08 school year. Anyone interested, please contact principal, Judy Luchtefeld, at 342-4060 or Athletic Director, Lawrence Carie, at 347-7536.

Young Hearts Potluck will be held on Tuesday, July 17, at noon in the parish center.

Retreat/Renewal Day for People with Disabilities will be held at Sacred Heart Parish Center, Effingham, on Saturday, July 21. The day will begin at 10:00 A.M. and close with a Eucharistic Liturgy at 3:30 P.M. The Spiritual Directors will be Rev. Rick Weltin and Sr. Jane Marie Hotze.
