DEFINITIONS

A.

Lead Equivalence:  Thickness of lead that provides same attenuation (reduction of radiation passing through) as material in question under specified conditions. Lead equivalence specified for materials used in diagnostic X-Ray rooms is measured at 150 kV unless indicated otherwise.
